End of Year Summary 2016

You'd be forgiven for thinking it's been a quiet year at Europa as we've stayed under the radar somewhat, however things have been extremely busy at Swift HQ and all of our projects are gathering momentum at a rapid pace.

In fact, next year could  be a game changer for Europa Aircraft. We're keeping our plans a closely guarded secret until the New Year, but we think you'll be just as excited as us when we reveal what's in store. Keep an eye out for announcements, and watch the skies for sight of something new  in 2017!

Wombleton Airfield

The new runway at Wombleton is complete. It's great to see this airfield looking so good mid transformation. Further developments are planned on this site, and of course, test flying for the Swift, and Europa modifications, under the new e-conditions, will begin here in 2017.

The control Tower refurbishment is complete, and we'd love now to pay homage to our fantastic Europa Community by lining the Europa office with pictures of you and your Europas' through the years.  Europa has an amazing history to look back on, and with developments hotting up our end , the future is going to start getting really exciting too.

If you would like to be featured in the Europa hall of fame, please email your images to us at marketing@europa-aircraft.co.uk.

The Group's manufacturing facility has now moved to Norwich, downtime was minimal and all teething issues have been rectified.  The Europa demonstrator is well on  it's way to completion and the new control panel will be in production in the very near future.

We would like to thank some members of the Europa Club for coming to Norwich to visit us, and for writing an interesting article in Europa Club Flyer publication.  We hope that you found this useful to see the developments behind the scenes.

We teased you with it earlier, but we'll mention here again, that there are some big plans for Europa next year, so watch this space. Maybe if you make a Christmas wish for a brand new Europa to be launched, this will become reality in 2017!!!

Swift Aircraft

Development of the Swift is moving quickly, the design has been finaliased, tooling and moulds are ready, and we can now promise a flying prototype in 2017.

David Stanbridge continues his role as elected Chairman of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) General Aviation Group  and member of the Specialist Committee. This group has been instrumental in the launch of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) econditions, something which David remains a strong advocate for. He hosted his second annual GA conference in October, which was a great success, thank you for all who were present and continue to support this important society.

Swift TG Energy

Great news in the the Energy sector of the business, as Swift TG Energy was awarded a grant from Innovate UK for the development of the Windsurf turbine. More details can be found on the Swift TG Energy website.
